Fabric:Nylon-Lycra

Pattern Description:
View A: Ankle-length leggings, seamless between the legs(great for stretch breeches), wide waistband and practical pocket at the back.
View B: Mid-thigh shorts with leg band

Pattern Sizing:
27 Sizes in one envelope! Girls to Women! Wow!

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow?
They were great when I followed them.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Love, love, love, this pattern!

Fabric Used:
The black and blue lightening came from NY fabrics (online) and the green came from my favorite local spandex source The Spandex Wherehouse.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I shortened the waist at the front by using the waist line from two sizes smaller than the back waist. I also lengthened the back crotch inseam.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I can hardly wait to sew my next pair and I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants better exercise tights without spending $70

Conclusion: I love the versatility of this pattern; especially the center back pocket.

Butterick 5399--The African Mudcloth Jacket

I I purchased this great piece of African Mud cloth when I attended the 2010 American Sewing Expo in Novi, MI. Needless to say it has been sitting in my stash until a few weeks ago when I decided that I would enter the "Lined Jacket" contest on patternreview.com. What is MudCloth you might ask? According to Wikepedia the Mali name is Bògòlanfini or bogolan (" mud cloth ") is a handmade Malian cotton fabric traditionally dyed with fermented mud. [1] This is a heavy cotton that has the weight of upholstery fabric and has little or no stretch on the crosswise grain and moderate stretch on the straight grain. I zigzagged each piece as I cut it out to reinforce the hand stitching that gives the fabic its width. One Thousand Patterns and Growing

I have in my possession over 1,000 patterns. When one has been sewing for more than fifty years one would expect to own a few hundred patterns; however, I was somewhat surprised to find that I have accumulated so many. I have a few from the seventies when I was in high school. Simplicity 9483 I have some of my mom's old patterns.... I have not consistently, aggressively, pursued a sewing clientele. It has been a haphazard effort for the most part. So why do I HAVE SO MANY! Of course I have patterns for my daughters that go from the Cabbage Patch Kids, to Barbie, and the American Girls.
